A Morning Spent in Holyrood Park

Entering Holyrood Park

Dear Diary,

I’ve been in Scotland for two months, and have visited here four times before, and this is the first time I’ve been to Holyrood Park!  I’ve driven by before, on the Hop-On Hop-Off bus, but never stopped; so this morning I walked (5 minutes from my apartment) to the park and spent the morning watching the doggies play, enjoying the view of the dramatic Arthur’s Seat and taking in some fresh morning air.

Located in Edinburgh beside Holyrood Palace (the Queen’s official Scottish residence), Holyrood Park is 640 acres dominated by the volcanic remains of Arthur’s Seat.  Most people go to enjoy the greenery, walk, work out, or make the 251m climb to see the panoramic views offered by Arthur’s Seat.

It was such a beautiful bright and calm morning, I need to make a habit of this.  A little bit frosty, but so long as there’s not 2 feet of snow and -30 degrees Celsius like in Edmonton, I’m not complaining!
